In follow up to my last post, I want to try and use this as my place to post poetry, journal entries, short stories. I have been reading again so much that it seems impossible not to write. I stumbled across some of my old writings and it is so interesting to see how well I portrayed some of my most important memories. I’d love to get back to that

I haven’t had garlic hummus in probably six years. When I was 18, I was in the hospital for anorexia, and since I have never like meat or eggs much, the hospital would give me a half cup of garlic hummus for one sitting during meal time so it got old fast. It was also one of the only foods I was very comfortable eating (I put it in a wrap almost every night that summer with veggies from my moms garden). It put me in this spiral of really weird memories, when I had a wrap like that for lunch today (which was quite delicious). Like this one dinner that summer, the first time my mom didn’t hover, my brother threw away his unfinished pasta and my mom got really angry at me. My brother fessed up but my mom was still sooo upset, she got in her car and I followed her to the side garage door to ask where she was going; I didn’t understand at the time why she was so upset. She turned away and put the car in reverse without a word, left for the night. That following week in the bs family group meeting that I hated, where all the patients have family members come and listen to each other’s emberassing stories, my mom told that story of her leaving that night. How she had to leave, because she saw me in that doorway asking where she was going, and saw a little four year old me, and she felt like she was abandoning me but couldn’t remain strong anymore. Every time I think of that, it makes me cry, to this day.
